My Story

Since I was young, I have always been passionate about helping others. In 2001, I earned my Master of Science in Child Development from the Erikson Institute of Chicago where I received intense training in a multidisciplinary approach to human development from birth through age eight. I am a certified DIRFloortime® Provider and have over eighteen years of experience working with and supporting families and children in clinical, school, and home-based settings.
In addition to the work I do with families, I am a wife and mother of three children, including a daughter with Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD) and anxiety, and a son with ADHD. While my education and professional experience qualify me to work with families and children, it is my own family's success with intervention that has truly inspired me to pursue my passion for helping others. I decided to start Earlyworks after facing numerous roadblocks in my own search to find local therapy services for my daughter.

When my family moved to South Florida in 2012, we planned to continue the effective approach to therapy, Dr. Stanley Greenspan's
DIRFloortime® method, my daughter had been receiving in Chicago. I found a warm, nurturing preschool program, but was surprised and disappointed when the only DIRFloortime® therapist referred to us was an hour away, and had no one to recommend nearby. With the
difficult transition of moving, we desperately needed help for our daughter and felt extremely overwhelmed and helpless.
Fortunately, I understood the importance of finding a strong team with the same values and approach to development as our family and did not give up. We were open-minded and willing to compromise, and though it was not ideal, we put together a team that turned out to be far better than we could have imagined. A few years later when my son was in need of therapy, we were grateful to have a team in place, already guiding us towards true growth and change necessary for our family to thrive.
As a parent and early childhood professional, I am frequently asked to
recommend local therapy services and feel incredibly frustrated when I am not able to help. I have often envisioned combining my professional background and personal experiences to offer families a developmental, holistic, social-emotional approach to intervention. I started Earlyworks to spread awareness and understanding of child development and relationship-based intervention methods. My goal is to help and support families in Boca Raton and surrounding areas through Earlyworks so children and families can reach their greatest potential.
